David Holmes

(Producer, Lead Guitar)

David completed a Bachelor of Music in 1985 at the University of Tasmania. During this time he also studied classical guitar for four years at the Conservatorium of Music

After teaching music for four years in Tasmania, David moved to Sydney to further his studies at the School of Audio Engineering where he completed a Diploma of Audio Engineering and went on to complete the producers course. During this time he also worked as a session musician at some of Sydney’s leading recording studios.

After gaining exposure to the Film & TV Industry, David decided to start his own studio in 1990 when he commenced a successful career composing music, for TV commercials, documentaries and in more recent year’s short films and lifestyle shows. The value and quality of his work has been well recognised by the industry and David has received many accolades including Broadcast and Design Awards and Australian Television Awards for highly commended works in audio production.

David now owns and operates Rocket Music which is based at the Fox Studios Complex in Sydney. He now works on a more global basis and has recently composed music for several major international advertising campaigns for Puma, Cathay Pacific, Honda and Microsoft.

Between assignments David engages in a number of musical projects, and still enjoys playing guitar in various bands around Sydney. He also enjoys recording new artists often calling in favours from some of his old Sydney session musician mates.
